Use a custom subdomain for your knowledge base instead of the auto-generated one. Custom subdomains are available on Starter and higher plans.

What is a Custom Subdomain?

A custom subdomain lets you choose your own subdomain name instead of using an auto-generated one. For example, instead of abc123.zuro.me, you could use docs.yourcompany.zuro.me or help.yourcompany.zuro.me.

Plan Availability

Custom subdomains are available on:

  • Starter Plan: Custom subdomain available
  • Professional Plan: Custom subdomain available
  • Enterprise Plan: Custom subdomain available
  • Free Plan: Auto-generated subdomain only

Setting Up a Custom Subdomain

Step 1: Check Availability

  1. Go to your knowledge base settings
  2. Find "Subdomain" section
  3. Enter your desired subdomain
  4. Check if it's available

Step 2: Choose Your Subdomain

Best practices:

  • Keep it short: Easy to remember and type
  • Use clear names: docs, help, support, knowledge
  • Match your brand: Use your company or product name
  • Avoid special characters: Only letters, numbers, and hyphens

Examples:

  • docs.yourcompany
  • help.productname
  • support.service
  • knowledge.base

Step 3: Update Subdomain

  1. Enter your desired subdomain
  2. Click "Update Subdomain" or "Save"
  3. Confirm the change
  4. Your knowledge base will be available at the new URL

Subdomain Rules

Custom Subdomain vs Custom Domain

Custom Subdomain

  • Format: yoursubdomain.zuro.me
  • Available on: Starter+ plans
  • Setup: Instant, no DNS configuration
  • Cost: Included in plan

Custom Domain

  • Format: docs.yourcompany.com
  • Available on: Starter+ plans (1-3 domains depending on plan)
  • Setup: Requires DNS configuration

You can use both: a custom subdomain on Zuro AND a custom domain pointing to it.
